This is the second embroidered coif I have made. This coif is Silk Thread on 40 count linen. Stitches include: Detached Corded Buttonhole, Stem Stitch, Extended Chain. There size 12 gold paillettes. The gold coils are done in #371 metal thread and done in the Elizabethan Plaited Braid Stitch (standard). All stitches are from the book by Jacqui Carey
Elizabethan Stitches A Guide to Historic English Needlework. This book is an excellent resource for those interested in recreating Elizabethan embroidered items.
